Claiborne Furguson News - May 2015

Attorneys from The Claiborne Ferguson Law Firm, P.A. are often featured by various media outlets due to their involvement in the community and the courtroom. In May of 2015, Claiborne Ferguson was involved in two news stories covered by WREG Memphis:

When a clerk at 201 Poplar, Marzine Pegues, collapsed inside a courtroom, Attorney Ferguson witnessed deputies attempting to save her life with an automatic defibrillator, which is intended to be easy enough that untrained employees could use them. Tragically, neither of two defibrillators worked as they were supposed to, and Pegues never regained consciousness. You can read more about this story here.

One of Claiborne Ferguson's clients, Tabitha Gentry, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for squatting in a multimillion dollar mansion. Claiborne stated that the DA and Judge were wrong in their sentencing and would appeal the decision. Since the sentencing and airing of this report, our firm did challenge the injustice of the sentencing and the TN State Appeal Court agreed with Claiborne. The case has been remanded back to the judge for resentencing. You can read more about this story here.
